A Letter to the Members - 12-18-2012




LVBC Members,


Congratulations go out to Bill Fountain for winning the 2012 Lake Verret Bass Club Angler of the Year Points Championship. Bill had a points total of 187. It was a tight race in the end as he won by only 3 points over second place Brad Rodrigue (184). Rounding out the remainder of the Top 6 were Bryce Hill (181), Alex Perret (179), Shane Edwards (175), and Ricky Mabile (168). This past Saturday, December 15th, we held our final tournament of the 2012 season. Congrats to Brad Rodrigue, who won the event with 4 fish weighing in at 11.41 lbs. Brad also had big fish with a 3.85 lb kicker.
In addition to the normal tournament, our 2011 Top 6 qualifiers also competed in this year's Top 6 Championship. Ricky Mabile took top honors this year with 5 fish for 8.35 lbs, while Bill had this year's big bass. They got a bonus payout of $200 and $50 respectively for their efforts. Lastly, I'll conclude by saying that we had a great 2012. Our membership has increased again this year. The club now has 29 members (up from 23 in 2012 and only 12 in 2011). I know that President Sean "Obama" Robbins would like to hear that it is because of his great leadership that the club is prospering, but no, I'm personally taking full responsibility for the club's recent resurgence, haha! :-D I'm sure all of our returning members know that it's a collective effort. If you've been around the club's members for even a month, then you can probably tell that we've got a great group of guys. They can't fish worth a damn, but good people are each and every one of us. I hope the new members enjoy the club as much as the rest of us have. Old members, in case you don't know, here's a list of our new members for 2013:
